Parenting is fraught with worries. In this symposium, we will try to describe from many angles a so-called “good boy/girl” that we expect to see in child development. We will also focus on the differences and similarities between the parenting of human beings and that of chimpanzees in order to identify the characteristics of the former. We hope to think together about the role of “conscience” in parenting, gaining a better understanding of parenting from broader perspectives.
